Gadsden's Northeast Alabama Regional Airport is an uncontrolled field used for general aviation purposes. It has a main runway length of 6,800 feet and a secondary runway length of 4,800 feet. Funding has been approved to extend the main runway to 8,500 feet and to install an Instrument Landing System. Click www.airnav.com/airport/KGAD for communications, navaids, runway specifications and more details.

The airport is served by Northeast Alabama Regional Aviation, an FBO providing Chevron 100LL and JetA fuel, maintenance and repairs, oxygen service, aircraft parking (ramp or tiedown), hangar rentals, aircraft rentals, flight training, and a passenger terminal and lounge. There is no demand for scheduled commercial air service due to the proximity of the Birmingham International Airport, less than an hour’s drive from Gadsden. Offering nearly 160 departures and arrivals daily to and from major cities throughout the nation, it ranks in the country's top 75 airports in terms of passengers served annually.
